DESCRIPTION

The ARTISAN NINJA FX KEY-83 is a balanced-speed gaming mousepad featuring a distinctive hexagonal weave pattern that enables smooth glide in all directions. With moderate speed and controlled stopping power, it’s designed for versatile aiming styles and dynamic movement scenarios.

Originally nicknamed “Rokkaku” (which means “hexagon” in Japanese) prior to release, this model emphasizes multi-directional consistency.

FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
  • Surface Material: 100% Polyester with hexagonal-weave cloth design for multi-directional glide.
  • Glide/Feel: Balanced speed level (medium-speed category) with smooth movement across X/Y axes and reliable stopping power; minimal directional difference.
  • Edges: Precision-stitched (in many variants) for durability and fray resistance.
  • Base: Non-slip rubber base, designed to prevent movement during intense gameplay.
  • Hardness / Foam Options: Available in XSOFT, SOFT, MID versions — softer foams offer more stopping power, MID offers firmer feel and faster glide.

Great quality, sticks to table well, consistent glide in all directions and downwards pressure does not effect friction much. Would recommend getting a KIBU Reversible Arm Sleeve for improved glide but it is not necessary. Additionally I would also recommend getting Mizugomo Futae P8 mouse skate dots or any other high quality mouse skates as low quality mouse skates can make the investment into a higher quality mouse-pad such as this not feel worthwhile.

Honestly the best mousepad ive ever bought or used. If youre looking for a FPS mousepad, then this one is for you. Im a huge fan of this pad and will never not be happy with it.

I really enjoy this mousepad, maing it currently. Movement feels free, subtle gentle texture feedback feels nice. After this and the zero I got before, I'm definitely a big believer in Artisan. The increased freedom compared to zero does come at a slight cost of passive control, but I think it's well worth it for the increased freedom for overwatch which is my main game. It feels much easier to move mouse or change direction. Big fan of this one so far, probably low hundreds hours of right now.

I own 3 artisan pads, in this order is how I purchased them

- Zero Soft
- Type 99 Mid
- Key83 Mid

On my journey to find my best mousepad I have developed preferences. Unfortunately one was that I prefer firmer pads for consistency. So I regret getting the Zero in soft because I can't evaluate if it's a good pad for me or not, the soft is also a bit scratchy on some of my dot skates making certain mice of mine unusable. If I could go back I'd get the mid variant.

I am a moderate to fast sens player with finger dominant aim, so micros are important to me, I felt like static friction was too high on the Type 99, which caused me to get a faster pad so I have less initial friction. I came from maining a glass pad for 1.5 years before getting my first Artisan pad and I immediately performed better, however type 99 is the extreme opposite end of that spectrum and I definitely belong somewhere towards the middle, between a Raiden & Zero Mid. The Type-99 & Shidenkai not so much.

I plan on trying more Artisan pads in the future to see what I prefer, most notably a Hien, Raiden, then a Zero mid. As for my current pad - Key83, so far I like it the best, I perform the best on it out of the 3, and I like the consistency, its great, although I do wonder if faster would be better still, I do want to see how far I can take it as a former glass player. But for now it's my main, and still a great 5/5 pad regardless.

If you wish to contact me about anything the email I used for my orders is [****], but my business email is [****], I'm starting to get into gaming gear review content (mice, pads, etc) so if I cover my experience it'll be mostly positive. Thank you for the great customer service
